VR Chat allows users to play the game with only their steam account. However its a good idea to switch to a VR Chat account ASAP. There are a lot of awesome features that require a VR Chat account. Any friends you make with your steam account will not automatically transfer over to your VR Chat account, so is important to set yourself up with a more powerful account as future proofing. VR Chat users have the ability to upload custom worlds and avatars. Users can also log into the VR Chat website and track to see which of their friends are online as well as launch instances of their worlds right from their web browser.

There are lots of Avatars to choose from in VR Chat. In your menu in the world tab is a list of Avatar worlds. These worlds will have lots of Avatars to choose from. Don’t be afraid to world hope and try on lots of avatars to see who you like. Remember you can always favorite a world if you would like to return back to it, and if you forget to favorite it you can browse your recently visited worlds.
VR Chat at its core is a social game where its okay to talk to strangers. If you meet someone you like, you can press you menu button and click on someone. A prompt will appear that will give you the option to friend them. You can join the world friends are in by browing the social tab in your menu. You will also sometimes run into unsavory people in VR Chat. Don’t be afraid to use the block and mute options if someone makes you uncomfortable.
