VRChat Log

The VRChat Log is the location where all events are put while you are playing VRChat. These events include player join, VRC_Trigger actions, and also errors. The log can be hard to read with all the information as well as constant changes to the formatting. You can view the log in two ways.

Right Shift + ` + 3

You can access the VRChat log in game and view the events in real time by pressing your Right Shift key, ` (usually the same as ~), and the number 3 (Non US keyboards may not be able to do this, see this Canny for details). While this can be viewed in VR, it is very difficult to read. The menu will be attached to your in game menu. It is recommended that you open your social menu first before opening the log to align it in front of you. Whenever you open the menu again, the log should move with it. Using the in game log will cut off what is displayed. You can hold tab and scroll up in the log, but it will not display all text.

output_log.txt

The second location for the log is the actual file itself. You can find it at C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\LocalLow\VRChat\vrchat named output_log.txt. This file will contain everything that was logged for your current session. There may be multiple output logs located in this folder. You should sort them by date to find the most recent one.
